Let's face it. Life is toxic. The statistics are truly scary. Billions of tons of toxic waste is discharged into the environment from industry, technology, medicine, war and food technology. Anyone who doesn't take detoxification seriously is going to fall prey to a wake up call when his or her liver, nerves, brain and endocrine glands begin to malfunction and the immune system goes into overdrive. Chronic pain and inflamation are a result of toxic insults to our cells. Fortunately, the natural world has the antidotes and remedies to insure safe and gradual detoxification.

What is a Fast? Clinically speaking, fasting is abstinence from solid foods. The most absolute fast is to subsist on air alone. Next in order of simplicity is water fsting, with distilled or purified water. During water fasts, participants are encouraged to rest and not partake of physical activities. There are several varieties of juice fasts [such as one] in which fasters drink a daily beverage of fresh lemon and water with a measured amount of maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

I lead a Vitality Fasting Retreat™, with fresh, seasonal organic juices, warm mineral broths which include seaweed, flax seeds and savory culinary spices, with a variety of herbal teas to address seasonal, group and individual needs.
