What Is A Visionary's Ideal Retreat?
By Christine BreeseChristine Breese, PhD, is founder of University Of Metaphysical Sciences. Christine also offers "Awaken Now," a Consciousness Retreat at Harbin Hot Springs. Also meet Christine at the San Francisco New Living Expo, booth #741, April 25-27. The world is full of visionaries nowadays, and it challenges us all to remain zen in the midst of the chaos, obstacles, and heartbreaking news in the media. We act as the source of love for others, our families, our coworkers, and strangers alike. Many shine the light in a world so needful of love. But when do the visionaries have their time of rejuvenation, growth, and self inquiry? When do the visionaries get to play with their colleagues and peers? When do visionaries take a break from being the teachers, spiritual counselors, and leaders that they have become in the world around them? At retreats, of course! Even visionaries with great stamina must take time for the self and carry on their own growth, rejuvenation and learning, even as they assist others with the same. All visionaries understand that they are always students of life, no matter how masterful they have become at living life as a human. Who Is A Visionary? YOU are! It doesn't matter if one has become famous, well known for his or her work, or if one is specifically unique in his or her endeavors. If you assist the world to be a better place, even if it is simply because you are contributing to humanity's awakening by your own self-inquiry into your true nature, you are a visionary. If you wish to learn of the mysteries of the universe, you are a visionary. If you aspire to master the art of living benevolently, blissfully and with lucidity, you are a visionary. Great knowledge is not required to be a visionary. Only an open heart and compassion for humanity's process is what is required to be a visionary. Only the desire to love is required. If you aspire to this, you can call yourself a visionary. A visionary is someone with a "vision" of something different than the masses and the old paradigm. You have a different idea of how reality should be, and you take action in whatever way you can to bring that vision about. If you too work toward a new paradigm that abolishes a world of harmfulness and war, you are one of the many visionaries who exist in this exciting era of time in which a shift will take place. In the meantime, take time for yourself. Take a break from all the stresses of life, just for a little bit. You deserve it!
What Is The Ideal Retreat For A Visionary? It is a place where you can let loose and play with others of like mind, without having to put on masks to cover your true nature, a place where you can make friends with your peers, those who think like you do. A visionary's ideal retreat is a place where you can explore your consciousness fully with others who are on the same journey. The ideal retreat would include fun, laughter, and deep self introspection in a blissful state and nature would abound and be inspiring to your heart. Shelter and food would all be taken care of so you don't have to think about survival of the organism, at least for a little bit. At the end of such an ideal retreat for a visionary, one would be left with a feeling of peace, tranquility, and joy. The resolve to carry this love continuously into the world when the retreat is over, with a fresh and rejuvenated approach, would be your heart's desire. Most likely you would also have a few new like-minded friends to keep in touch with! Wherever two or more are gathered in God's name, no matter what name they call God by, there is definitely a spiritual energy that comes into the midst of such a group and causes some sort of bursting of love within all who are present. Some call it magic, others call it excitement, but I call it the emergence of the One Self that is all of creation, becoming manifest and conscious within the minds and hearts of all who are present. That is greater than any one of us, and yet lives within us all. Namaste.
