| Exploring Transformation at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute By Randal Churchill Randal Churchill and Marleen Mulder are Directors of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute (HTI). One of the original licensed schools of hypnotherapy, HTI emphasizes an eclectic, experiential approach, including powerful, creative therapy demonstrations in an intimate, supportive setting. One great aspect of developing a career as a Certified Hypnotherapist is that this work cannot be effectively outsourced to other countries. The rapidly expanding field of contemporary hypnotherapy has a vast variety of safe, effective applications. Hypnosis can assist people with improving performance, health, confidence, relationships, sports, concentration, recall and creativity; chronic or acute pain control; overcoming habits, addictions and fears; self-discovery, stress reduction, healthier self-expression, and therapy for past traumas. Compared with traditional therapeutic modalities, the results of holistic hypnotherapy are often faster, more effective and lasting. This is because hypnosis works directly on the deeper mind, the subconscious, which has been called "the other 90% of the mind." The subconscious mind is the seat of the emotions, imagination, memory, habits and intuition, and the pathway to the super-conscious. It is the core, the essence, of how we experience ourselves and the world. Any meaningful personal transformation that has ever occurred in or out of therapy resulted from a shift in the subconscious mind. The power of heart-centered hypnotherapy can be astounding. HTI graduate Catherine Hershon, CHT, wrote, "In my blind assumption that this was merely a fine school for the training of hypnotherapists, I found myself walking willingly into a safe and loving cocoon.... In this place, I experienced and witnessed spiritual transformation and personal growth unparalleled in any other event of my life. The depth and breadth of the wisdom and knowledge offered far exceeded my wildest expectations...." Professional hypnotherapists in this exciting emerging profession may emphasize private consultations or classes or both. You may specialize or have a general practice. Our school is licensed and our diplomas are approved by the California State Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. Our program is comprehensive, and the results show. Priscilla Broussard, CHT, from the little town of Swannanoa, NC, e-mailed, "I returned to North Carolina with the tools and the confidence to build a successful practice in an area where other hypnotherapists told me it couldn't be done. Marleen and Randal put heart and soul into every lesson and every demonstration. The seeds they planted continue to grow within me to this day. My practice is thriving, and practicing hypnotherapy is the most fulfilling work I've ever done. I feel deeply grateful to be touching other people's lives in such a powerful and lasting way.... Attending HTI was the best investment of time and money I've ever made." Hypnosis is also a very effective adjunct to any therapeutic specialty. Our program has all major approvals, including Board of Behavioral Sciences and Board of Registered Nursing approved CEUs. Many professionals in the health and counseling fields have taken our training and successfully integrated hypnotism into their work. Examples include: psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, nurses, massage practitioners, physicians, dentists, chiropractors, coaches, electrologists, optometrists, physical therapists and persons in the teaching and ministerial professions. Dr. Victoria West, Chiropractor, wrote, "You certainly covered a broad range of modalities in your classes, but I was most impressed by your depth, especially during the therapy demonstrations. I continue to be amazed at the results of my hypnotherapy clients, and have found much to integrate into my chiropractic practice. And the positive results on my personal life have been truly dramatic...." In addition, you are welcome to join our courses for other purposes such as improving business skills, personal therapy, research, or developing an avocation or a part-time career. |
