Discover the Secret of Flight: 'My first out-of-body experience, and how you can have one too....'

Gnosticweb, the school for modern Gnosis (knowledge of spiritual mysteries), offers free courses in astral travel and dreams, self-discovery, and the journey to enlightenment.

I've always wanted to know more - I've always wondered what significance our dreams have? What is this mysterious place we go to when we sleep? And what can these dreams possibly mean? Then I discovered astral travel. Now, what I'm about to tell you may sound strange, but it was one of the most exhilarating adventures I have experienced. It was the day that I discovered how to fly.

Let me start from the beginning:

I had various errands to do throughout the day, and my mind was scattered all over the place. I was overwhelmed and thought I would never get everything done. My feet were hurting and I was frustrated, irritable and tired. I needed to take a rest and I needed to calm down. As I continued walking down the busy street, something caught my attention. It was a small forest. There were a variety of different trees, a garden of all sorts of flowers, and a stunning waterfall that glistened in the sunlight. There were birds chirping, butterflies fluttering, and squirrels running about. What is this beautiful little forest doing right in the middle of the financial district? It was odd, but nonetheless, I chose to sit in one of the benches. I felt the soft breeze of the wind brush my cheek, and I felt this exhilarating sense of peace and happiness. As I looked at the leaves and the branches swayed swiftly in the wind, I took careful notice of the vibrant colors of the flowers, and listened to the soothing sound of the waterfall – my mind was peaceful, calm and serene.

At that moment, I was away from my world of emotions and reflections and I was simply aware of what was in front of me. It was beautiful - an enchanted magical place! No words can describe the immense feeling of tranquility. I had no worries, no thoughts, no emotions, just complete awareness of what was happening in front of me. I wanted to stay there forever!

I had arrived home later that evening, completely exhausted. I decided to take a nap. I had fallen asleep to the image of the serene, magical place that I witnessed during the day. When I opened my eyes, you are not going to believe what I saw. At first, it seemed normal. I was staring at my bedroom ceiling. But I felt really strange – I felt light as a feather like I was hanging in mid air.

Then, I saw my own body hovering right above me. My body jolted – I quickly closed my eyes. What was that all about I thought? I opened my eyes again, and this time, my legs couldn't resist floating upwards. It kept rising up toward the ceiling. I couldn't control it. My legs were floating in midair but the rest of my body was stuck. I tried to get up, but I was paralyzed. I tried hard to pull my body upwards, until my entire body 'popped right up' to the ceiling. Oh no, I said, "I'm going to hurt my head." I closed my eyes yet again, and when I reopened them, I was staring at the ceiling again. I waited for a moment, without moving a muscle, and then I decided that it was all a dream.

As I rolled over on my side to get up out of bed, I felt my feet caught on something - I lost my balance and the next thing I knew, I was tumbling on the floor. I turned to look back at my bed to see how my feet would've gotten stuck, perhaps my blanket was all twisted and that's what caused the fall.

To my amazement, it was something more profound. When I looked back toward my bed, I saw my body lying there! I was still asleep. Where am I? Am I still dreaming? Or, Could this be an out-of-body experience (OBE)? Was I conscious in another dimension? Was this the astral plane? But everything seemed to look the same. I was confused, but I was determined to explore.

If I was in the astral, then it would be possible to walk through my bedroom door, after all I should be able to move through objects. I succeeded without effort. I headed toward the front door - this is where I would really test to see where I was. I took a deep breath and I took a leap of faith... and then, I started to fly, endlessly soaring through the skies.

What an incredible feeling to experience such freedom! Could I really travel to distant places at the speed of thought? Could I finally visit the place I have wanted to go to for so long? I focused on my destination, and in a matter of seconds, I was there. The experience was vivid and clear, the scenery vibrant, breathtaking. It was an unforgettable experience!

How did I do it? There is no special magical formula to follow. All you need is to be open to the possibility, that there is something more to life than meets the eye.

So you want to know the secret to flight? You might find that you could discover it tonight!
