As the fall approaches, thoughts of going back to school arise. Many of us feel that we need to be in school, to keep moving forward in our education, but we may not be sure of our direction. What would it be like to learn a different kind of skill; A skill that would offer not only financial support, but would also support the body, mind, and spirit; A skill that fosters touch, relationship, and healing, and gives back to you in kind. Some would call this a different kind of learning, a less traditional path, even though the healing power of touch and bodywork is one of the oldest traditions in the world, a tradition that is truly worth coming back to. This is certainly a different way of thinking about going "back to school."

McKinnon Institute offers this kind of learning. Our mission has always been to bring touch into peoples lives at every stage of life's journey. People of all ages and backgrounds have been coming "back to school" at McKinnon for over 35 years. We have trained thousands of successful massage therapists, and thousands more who just wanted to enrich their lives by journeying into the ancient art of bodywork.

Two of our defining features that have attracted students over the years are flexibility and depth. Flexibility is offering modular programs so that you can choose the classes that you want to take, and you can take them when they are most convenient for you. There are many small classes that allow you to explore your areas of interest, and advanced certificate programs for the areas in which you would like to specialize. Depth is about having teachers who can lead you into the work, who are practicing the particular styles that they teach, and who are passionate about their work. We understand all of the factors that go into a lasting and successful practice of bodywork, and we are here to support your personal journey in all the ways that it may unfold. If this kind of journey sounds right for you, whether as a career or as a companion to support your life and work, come visit us and see what we have to offer.
