How many times have you wished your life or some aspect of it could be really different? You may have already been in therapy or thought about it. Maybe you even received some supportive help. But, have the root issues of your life been resolved? Do you actually know what those core issues are?
Many people are frustrated and unhappy with poor relationships, anxiety, stress, old trauma or abuse, depression, addictions, etc. and simply assume that this is their lot in life.
Some people don't actually recognize the nature of their problems. Instead, their defensive behaviors like blaming, isolating or becoming bitter and resentful mask the hidden character structures holding their life dissatisfactions and disappointment in place.
Our character structures are like the solid girders that hold a building upright. Psychologically, they are the supportive structures for our lives. When these structures are healthy and resilient they allow us to function optimally. If we are rigid, project our fears onto others, avoid, catastrophize, isolate, etc., our choices in life are narrowed. We may feel helpless to cope.
The great American psychologist William James said that when we change our minds, we change our lives. This is as true today as it was when he said it. Perhaps now, it's even truer, because in his day we only had behaviorism and psychoanalysis to solve personal problems, both limited in their scope.
Today we have therapies that work directly on our character structures and combine the power of western psychology with the depth of ancient healing systems, such as acupuncture, chakra healing and energy field transformation. Informed by the latest scientific research on how the nervous system works to form our social identities, we can now literally erase traumatic emotions from our nervous system. We can rapidly shift negative perceptions and beliefs and thereby change our outlook on life and on the world.
By combining our modern knowledge of the nervous system, brain function, memory research, attachment theory and social development with new breakthrough healing methods, we have power as never before to heal and transform suffering.
These new therapies are not, however, simply panaceas, even though they often work when nothing else has. They can remove fears, phobias, traumatic imprints, depression and more. But, in order to transform our inner world, most of us need an experienced and highly skilled professional to work with us, someone who is able to create the right environment for success.
Even more, we need to work with a person we feel comfortable with, where there is rapport and a sense of containment for our needs, emotions and concerns. In such a healing, therapeutic relationship much deep work can be accomplished in a fairly short time. Lifelong habits can be changed. Depression and anxiety can be released. Trauma and its after effects can be removed. In short, people can become happier, calmer, more fulfilled and productive in all areas of life.
Those intractable, stubborn patterns that seem immovable can actually change and change for the better. Take the first step today and find out for yourself. Make the commitment to work on yourself one more time.
