Borrowing Benefits with EFT
By Greg Harper
Greg Harper is an EFT specialist, certified clinical hypnotherapist, and shamanic practitioner offering sessions for individuals and couples, and workshops in EFT and shamanism.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a rapidly growing energy psychology that usually gives rapid and permanent relief from negative emotions, including trauma (including PTSD), phobia, grief, anger, and emotional blocks to success. Many people also experience relief from pain or other physical conditions. EFT involves tapping on acupuncture points while making affirmations.
EFT works remarkably well in group sessions. Each person just needs to tune into an issue, such as a troublesome memory, a recent upset, or even physical pain. They write this issue down, give it an intensity from 1 to 10, and then put their paper aside. I then do an EFT session with a volunteer, and everyone taps along; that is, everyone is tapping for the volunteer's issue, not their own. Every 15 minutes or so, I stop and have everyone check the intensity on their own issue. Almost invariably, everyone's intensity on their own issue goes down and often completely resolves, even though they are tapping for another's issue. The effectiveness of this "Borrowing Benefits with EFT" technique was documented for a workshop taught by Gary Craig, the developer of EFT, and the results will soon be published in a peer-reviewed psychology journal.
I offer one or two "Borrowing Benefits with EFT" workshops each month. Group sessions are an easy and inexpensive way to learn and experience EFT for yourself.
