Still Steadfast After All These Years

Thirty-two years ago, Nixon resigned from the presidency, the Jackson 5 were at the top of the charts, and OPEN EXCHANGE was born. While the others are history, OPEN EXCHANGE carries forth. Now that's longevity!

I've also been doing the work of healing and transformation for over thirty years. I began in the seventies as an outflow of my work with yoga, meditation and visualization. Soon my work with inner healing and hypnotherapy was born. I started out humbly – not a log cabin, but almost. I lived in a tiny cottage in Berkeley in the back of a family's home. I did my healing work evenings and weekends while I taught Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics and English courses part time. Every Friday night in Berkeley, I gave free hypnosis demonstrations, and from here, my work grew and grew.

I kept on track no matter what the challenge was, as I knew that this was what I wanted to do. This was my destiny, and I'd had it trying to sell cars and aloe vera juice – not that there's anything wrong with that, but something else was calling to me. I kept plugging on – even with challenges and obstacles, because this was what I knew was my true work. I read prosperity and manifestation books, took marketing courses, worked hard, prayed, planned, and said "thank you" as often as I could remember to. Now no longer in the cottage, I moved to a much larger home, and I began a hypnotherapy school in my living room. I soon became licensed by the state of California, and eventually moved our school into a professional setting. At the beginning of 2006, we moved into a beautiful center with a meditation garden on a balcony that you can view through a wall of glass. I continue to give thanks for the growth, and I keep my faith that all is moving in ever-increasingly expansive directions. Now I have books, CDs, DVDs, manuals, workshops, sessions and more.

Over the years, I've learned the importance of being focused and steadfast, getting back on the horse and continuing the ride if ever challenges might arise. I have left myself no choice about which path to follow. I'm on the path of healing and consciousness transformation. Meditation and yoga have continued to be my mainstays, and they keep me centered and in tune with the great energy of the universe, the energy of manifestation and love, truly the guiding force of my life and the force that pervades this work.
