Himalayan Yoga: A Master's Bay Area Tour

By Ginny Giblin

Ginny Giblin, a senior member of the Hamsa Yoga Sangh, teaches and prepares initiates for empowerment into Mahavatar Babaji's Kriya Yoga.

What if, in these troubling times, rather than reaching outward for alcohol, drugs, TV or other ad-dictive substances, we reached inward for our breath? Specifically, the Kriya breath of Mahavatar Babaji's Kriya Yoga, as mentioned in Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi, and taught worldwide by Himalayan Kriya Master Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath and his band of kriyabaans. Well, with daily practice, the need for alcohol, television - even chocolate – can fall away. Kriya practice, the lightning path to Self-Realization, provides calmness, freedom from anxiety, a palpable and accessible relationship with the divine—and more.

The mission statement of the Hamsa Yoga Sangh is this:

  1. Humanity Our Uniting Religion
  2. Breath Our Uniting Prayer
  3. Consciousness Our Uniting God.

In harmony with all faiths, religions, practices and belief systems, Kriya Yoga is the true ancient art and science of yoga, the highest form of yoga for which the physical asanas prepare the body to sit for extended periods of time to do sadhana (spiritual work).

Essentially, Kriya Yoga is a spinal breathing technique, replete with mantra and also some simple physical asanas to lock the bandhas and retain the heat and energy created by the traveling of the awakened kundalini energy within the hollow shushumna canal of the spine.

While there are many practices to stimulate the kundalini, the one way to truly awaken the coiled serpent found at the base of one's spine, and harness its transforming powers, is by receiving the touch of the true Kriya master, which is a simple definition of who Yogiraj truly is.

What are the signs of a true master? The ability to transmit shivapat, shakipat, and pranapat: the triple divine qualities of heat, sound, and light.

In satsang, or gatherings, which Yogiraj will be holding locally, even the true non-believer may behold the signs of the master's transmission to have an experience of the power of Mahavatar Babaji's Kriya Yoga and its transformative action upon the breath, body, mind, and soul.

Additionally, Yogiraj will be open and accessible for questions and answers put forth from truly interested to the merely curious. Bring your questions, concerns, and interest to these satsangs for fascinating discourse and the experience of a lifetime.

An initiation into this ancient path is available, and you are invited to walk the Kriya road with our many Bay Area teachers and practitioners. We look forward to having you join us.

The Earth Peace Temple, shown in the background, features a one-of-its kind alchemical mercury "shivling," one ton of solidified and purified mercury which emanates peaceful and powerful vibrations for all who visit. Yogiraj's message is simple, "Earth Peace through Self Peace."
