Well-known jeweler and metalsmith, Peter Ostwald is offering classes in jewelry-making in his fully equipped shop in Oakland.

You can learn to design and produce professional-level jewelry: rings, pendants, earrings, as well as fine objects such as letter-openers, boxes, baby spoons and picture frames.

Techniques taught will include most silver-smithing techniques such as stone-setting, soldering, riveting, wire-work, piercing, lamination.

Peter specializes in introducing beginners to these techniques. More experienced students are also welcome.

Peter Ostwald has sold metal sculpture as well as jewelry through such stores as I. Magnin, Saks Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue's Kreuger Gallery and the Oakland Museum.

He has taught jewelry classes in such schools as the Richmond Art Center and Sierra Nevada College.
