GARDEN SCULPTURE & CREATIVE BUILDING WORKSHOPS Create beautiful sculpture and buildings while recycling. Brent Sumner's workshops feature Darjit, an architectural sculpting compound made from recycled paper and clay. Darjit is clay like, user friendly, light weight, insulating and fantastic for large scale work such as statuary, gardens, wood fired ovens, outdoor kitchens, flooring, arches, gateways and creative interiors. Its broad applications and recycled and natural elements, allow one to achieve endless organic shapes and structures, thus it's an ideal material for the natural builder or artist. Brent Sumner is an artist, builder, environmentalist and teacher. Creating unique sculpture, living spaces, gardens, mosaics and wood fired ovens for 15 years, he teaches workshops internationally and locally at the Institute of Mosaic Art. Brent is building a sculpture garden for the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show in March. The sculptures and ponds will be made out of nearly all recycled material with a focus on hard to recycle things like old tires, plastic bottles, plastic and Styrofoam packaging, Darjit, of course. 408-316-4395 or
