"Teaching ballroom dancing is a viable career option even if you have little or no dance experience. If you love to dance, we will train you to become a teacher who can share that love with others. There are many opportunities open to well trained, professional ballroom dance teachers. You can become a full-time teacher in an established dance studio, teach ballroom dancing in the public schools, work with seniors in community recreation centers, or start your own dance business. There are limitless possibilities as long as you have the training.

Teacher Training Program
We offer American Style Bronze Teacher Training classes in San Francisco and Emeryville four nights a week. You will learn to dance and to teach all 17 dances in the DVIDA American Style Syllabus to the full Bronze level. There is no prerequisite to join the class. The program takes sixteen months to complete, but we also offer eight-month and four-month accelerated options. New sessions begin each January, May, and September. The classes are held at night, so you can keep your day job while you train and study for a new career that you will love.
